How to Get Free Perks at a Hotel

Want to save money at a hotel AND get the best deal and perks possible?  Its definitely doable.  

First, do some online research on the availability of rooms within your desired price range, in the area you’d like to stay, and so on.

Once you’ve decided where you’d like to stay, call the direct number of the hotel, not the toll-free reservation line.

(I know what you’re thinking: Talk on the phone?  To a real person?  Are you serious?!?!)

By calling the direct number, you are able to speak directly to a hotel employee, establish rapport, and get your questions answered.  

You can also negotiate for additional perks and possibly get additional charges for things like WiFi, parking, and resort fees waived.

If you make your reservation online, however, you’ll only get what is included in the online listing. You can’t negotiate with a reservation program.
